Reporter David Riccio believes the Broncos’ injury crisis isn’t as bad as it looks, and feels they have the depth to cover the loss of injured trio Adam Reynolds, Ezra Mam and Selwyn Cobbo.
The three players all went down with hamstring injuries in the Broncos’ loss to the Storm.
According to the club, Reynolds is expected to be sidelined for four weeks, while Mam and Cobbo will both have longer stints on the sidelines, for more than six weeks.
Riccio said the Broncos are still a chance of taking out this year’s premiership, despite the loss of those players.

“Well, I did say cry me a river, because you need to get through adversity to win premierships,” Riccio said on NRL 360 on Wednesday night.
“We’re talking about Ezra Mam, who has played 10 games all year for the Broncos.
“They’ve got to this point in time with Ezra Mam playing 10 games.
“Selwyn Cobbo has been shopped and let go by the Broncos (to the Dolphins on a one-year deal for 2026), that’s how much they think of him.
“Granted, Adam Reynolds, no doubt, huge blow, get it.
“However, they do have a decent replacement in Ben Hunt, who knows how to play big games.”
Host Braith Anasta felt Riccio didn’t have enough sympathy for the Broncos.
“I think you’re being a bit harsh,” Anasta told Riccio.
“Adam Reynolds is a great player.
“Ezra Mam has been their best player since returning and turned their season around.
“Any team who cops (injuries to both) the halves, that’s a big loss and it’s a lot more severe than I think you’re suggesting, in my opinion.”
Riccio pointed out again that Hunt is a very capable replacement for Reynolds at halfback.

“Ben Hunt’s not a bad replacement,” Riccio added.
But Anasta pushed back at Riccio.
“Do you think Ben Hunt’s in the top halves in this competition at the moment? He’s at the back end of his career,” Anasta said.
Anasta highlighted the unfortunate nature of the injuries to Mam and Reynolds.
“Two halves at the same time, the same week, same play, they won’t be there for four weeks minimum,” Anasta added.
“I just think you’ve got to cut them a bit of slack. I think it’s a bit harsh.”
